The post today is about a tool called ThinkUp created by Gina Trapani.
There is a lot of tools offer to corporation and business to help them track and create statistics of the activities they do in social media for a price. ThinkUp is different because it’s free and everybody loves free stuff.
This new tool is a free open source web application that tracks and saves all the post, tweets, comments, replies, friends, followers, links etc. among all the social media networks like Twitter and Facebook.
There are a lot of developers working in the documentation and source code of this online tool, which is still in Beta. You can download it and just update it.
This project has a lot of expectation because is very useful for companies that have full-time development resources assigned to building the social media tools of the company.
You may be thinking how ThinkUp will make money?? Well they rely on the support of non-profit organizations like Expert Labs. This means that instead of profit, donations will maintain ThinkUp. For now this tool is been use by government agencies, celebrities, journalist etc.
Why is useful? I think this tool is very useful because even though social media is free and you can post ANYTHING there, you still don’t know for sure who is watching you. This tool help you analyze by graphics, visualize by maps and organize all your activities in social media in order to have an accurate idea of how the strategies you’re applying are working and if your reaching the right audience.
