M.I.A no more.

Sorry for not posting anything since 2012. Maybe nobody notice it but for those who did I had been busy, but not so busy for not blogging, I’m just using my free time for other stuff which I tell you in here. I will blog more, promise.

What I have done since the beginning of the year is working as a graphic designer in a more formal way. I am working in an app/videogame production studio. I do UI/UX design and some art for games. I’m currently studying 3D modeling and animation. I want to expand my knowledge in digital art so those are good things to start with, I want to learn motion graphics as well but maybe later, I’m pretty busy with these things. ( :

I have a dependent now. Its my canine daughter. I love her so much. She is a poodle mix, she’s 3 months and her name is Chi-Chi! She is awesome and so cute. She broke her leg 4 weeks ago and hopefully tomorrow she will get her cast off. I will post more things bout her when we do more adventures.  Its all for today ( :

Clean your Makeup Brushes :)

Hello!

Today I’ll share with you how I clean my small size makeup brushes collection. I hope you enjoy it.

If you use your brushes every day it’s very important to clean them, ideally after each use but if not, at least every week. I have try a lot of methods and frankly the one I like the most (and think work best) is using baby shampoo. I have try to clean them with oil (like some tutorial said) but I couldn’t take the excess oil from my brushes in like a week…and I didn’t even put that much of oil, so personally I don’t recommend it..yuck!. You can also clean your brushes with special cleansers sprays like the ones from MAC or BeautySoClean, they are quite pricey but worth it.

Anyways here I give you a super quick affordable way to do it :)

You will need 5 things:

I hope you like it!

Have a great day! Bye Bye

Pastel palette bracelet

Hello people! :)

Today I decided to make (or finish) a bracelet project I had since a long time ago. This bracelet tutorial is pretty straight forward (very very easy). The fun part is that some of the beads are handmade. The pastel colored beads are made from polymer clay. I used a very helpful tutorial to make them, you can check it out here: Diy polymer clay beads by Delighted Momma.

Enjoy!

I hope you liked it! :)

Have a great day!

Ancient Lights: That’s a wrap!

Hello there!

I haven’t blog since two or three weeks. The reason: Producing my first feature film. Yep that’s right, remember Ancient Lights? well we shoot it ALL…and it turn out amazing. We did 12 days of shooting and thanks to the amazing crew and cast we survived! We shoot in Vancouver BC in different locations like a park, a school, a gym etc.

Our crew was over 15 people willing to make the effort to create this great story. We are really grateful to them and to our amazing talent who brought the script to life.

Here are some photos of the production, hope you like them! :D

I’m really exited to see the final product but we still need a lot of work to do in post production. Soon you’ll see Ancient Lights in a big screen and you’ll remember my posts about it. ñ_ñ

Favourite Bracelets tuts : )

Hi everyone!

Today I’m gonna share with you the bracelets I made last month. These bracelets are trending right now and there are a lot of tutorials and many styles so I decided to give it a try.

Here are my favorite 3, hope you like them too.

The main materials I used for these 3 designs are bamboo cord , some rings or jewelry findings and time = P.

To make the heart bracelets I got inspired by the Honestly WTF – DIY Macrame Bracelet tutorial. As you can see instead of rings I used a heart shape metal wire. = )

For this friendship bracelet I use a pattern from friendship-bracelets.net . You can find the exact pattern here. I only did a couple of inches because it takes too much time making a full length bracelet. = P

For the braided ring bracelet I got inspiration again from Honestly WTF – DIY Braided Hex Nut Bracelet . Instead of Hex nut I used some broad rings I got from another necklace I bought from Claire’s.

Pick you favorite bracelet and try to make your own! Its really entertaining and perfect for gifts or party favors.

Lastly I want to give you guys a printable freebie. I made a June 2012 calendar page for you! Hope you like it!

Download it here July2012.

Thanks for reading, have a great week! = )

Fashionable reusable bag !

hi!

A few weeks ago I saw a tutorial about fusing plastic bags to make cute reusable grocery bags. I wanted to try it myself so I did it with the infinite plastic bags I have in my apartment. The process its quite easy but you need patience and time. It took me around 2 hours to do mine (because I don’t have a sewing machine and my sewing skills sux).

Materials: plastic bags, more plastic bags, an iron, parchment paper, scissors, ruler , needle and threat.

First you need to prepare your bags. Cut the bottom and the handles, then extend them. You will have something like the picture below. Now you need to flip the bag inside out. If you iron go over logos or images  in the bag the ink WILL make a mess.

Now you need to do this with 4 bags. For a good plastic “fabric” you need 8 layers of plastic. ( thus the 4 bags ; ))

Once you have you bags ready is time to prepare them to be fuseeee = D In the pic above I have prepared my surface putting parchment paper then the bags then on top parchment paper ( this last one will be in direct contact with the iron).

Put your iron settings in low or medium then start ironing the bags form center to edges, be fast and precise, don’t keep the iron in one place too long. The parchment paper will wrinkle, don’t worry, that’s normal.

Do this as many times as you need to get the “fabric” for your bag. I did this 3 times. If you noted I put a yellow bag on top and bottom so my finish product ended up as a Yellow layer. I did a blue one as well and a striped one too. You can play with the different colors of your bags to create nice patterns or you can use the graphics in the bags for your designs. The possibilities are infinite.

Once you have your desire layers you need to cut the panels of the bag. Here is a lousy drawing of mine :P .

1 – handles

2 – Side panels

3 – bottom of the bag

4 – front and back panels

Once the panels are cut you need to sew them to create the bag :)

After all the sewing your bag will be done. Here is mine = )

Here is another source to learn how to fuse bags!

I hope you liked this post and please try to reuse plastic materials and recycle! : )

bye bye!

Clay Jewelry!

Hello!!

How you guys doing?

This week has been crazy because work and the project I’m part of : “Ancient Lights” film! (don’t forget to check it out here if you haven’t).

Today post is a project I did last week but didn’t have the time to edit the pics until now. First I will share the new supplies I got from the store I work in and Dollarama.

I think I really need to stop shopping cuz I dunno how I’m gonna take all these back home!.

Anyways, for this project I got the inspiration from “The Bay” a well known department store in Canada. I went to The Bay about 2 weeks ago and I saw a display with tons of products with the same style, there were clothes, towels, bags, everything for the summer in the official colors of the brand. here is a picture. = )When I saw the display I wanted to do whatever project with the same color palette so I decided to do clay jewelry.

Here is the tutorial hope you like it!

Thanks for reading guys!

Crafty Time – DIY Elastic cord bracelets or keychain

Hello people!

Today I will share with you how I made a bracelet , originally for me, but end up in my boyfriend possession ^_^.

Its pretty easy and you can use it as a bracelet by uniting the rings or attach your keys to the strip. = )

You will need Elastic cord, jump rings and some pliers (to open the rings ; )) - the length of the strips depend on your wrist. I used them around 30 cm long.

Enjoy!

If you don’t understand some of the images please let me know.

Have a great day!
